No, we’re not crying you guys. Our eyes are just leaking.

This weekend just gone, Southbound Festival held a impromptu gig in Perth in order to raise money for the WA fires.
Parts of WA are going through a pretty horrendous time right now, and needs a helping hand – rather than mope about their cancelled festival, Southbound, along with a bunch of caterers & businesses, decided to help. They decided to raise money with live music.
Almost 3,500 punters came to enjoy the vibes at HBF Stadium, with a remarkably huge lineup for an event that was organised in 48 hours.
- JumpClimb Djs

The gig raised cash money for the Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund – Waroona and Districts Fire Relief Appeal 2016 – and punters, ya’ll raised about $150,000.
David Chitty, Southbound’s Director, said this:
“We were utterly overwhelmed at the willingness of local businesses, suppliers, staff and our local and international artists who dropped everything to make this event happen last night. The people of West Aus wasted no time throwing their support and money behind this event to help out our friends in the South West through this devastating time.”
Not only did they raise a shitload of money, punters seemed absolutely stoked on the live gig:
Pretty damn impressive for a 48-hour turnaround, ya’ll. Shit like this makes you proud to be Aussie, doesn’t it?

Nice one, Southbound Festival.
