After an absolutely mammoth party in 2018 that raised over $200,000 for disabled youth, Dylan Alcott‘s Ability Fest is back again for 2019 with a lineup that is certain to knock your socks off.
Returning to Coburg Velodrome in Melbourne‘s inner north, the accessible fest for everyone who loves music and wants to make a real day of it is playing host to artists like The Presets, Northeast Party House, E^ST, Joyride, Luca Brasi, ARC (made up of members from Spiderbait, Powderfinger, and Jet), and DJ/basketball double-threat Liz Cambage.
Dylan Alcott’s stoked to be able to bring Ability Fest back for 2019, and as someone who found a lot of acceptance and love at festivals, he knows the frustrations around some of these big gigs being inaccessible for folks with disabilities.
Our first event was without a doubt one of the most magical days of my life, and I saw the impact it had on many attendees that had never been able to experience an event like it. It’s an opportunity to break down the barriers between disabled and non-disabled guests because at the end of the day, we’re all there to enjoy the music and the vibe.
I can’t wait for the festival to be even bigger and better this year with an awesome line-up of acts, more to do on the day, and some great brands backing us.
The whole thing is going down on Sunday, April 7 from midday, with all proceeds going once again to the Dylan Alcott Foundation. You can sign up for presale tickets over HERE before 2pm on March 12, which are on sale from 6pm, and general sale from 12pm on March 13.
