DJ Tigerlily Sets Up, Donates $5K To Headspace Page After Nude Photo Leak

When something really shitty happens to you, you’ve got two choices: fight or flight.
Neither is more honourable than the other, but fight’s what Aussie DJ Tigerlily – real name Dara Hayes – has chosen to do after nude photos of her were leaked online.

If you missed our earlier story, the 23-year-old

posted a entirely censored nude Snapchat video to her channel, covering her breasts and nether regions with emojis / drawings, but some douche-canoe used a jailbreak app to remove the overlays before circulating it far and wide.

Understandably fkn furious that the photo of naked body was edited and distributed without her consent, Tigerlily took to Instagram with a message condemning the leak as a “sex crime”.

As you may or may not know, in the past 24 hours there has been some content of me spread online. I am a young…

As important as ripping shreds off whoever violated her privacy was reassuring her female fan base their bodies are perfect as is, and don’t deserve a) any unwanted attention, and b) any shit being hung on them (some dickheads really went the extra mile on stories about Tigerlily’s Snap, critiquing her body ‘cos ughhhhhh).
“Although the crime that has been committed is NOT OK, being proud of your body and who you are IS OK,” she said in a statement first released to PEDESTRIAN.TV. “Girls – Do not ever be ashamed of your body. Do not ever let anyone else ever treat you with anything but absolute respect. You and your body are completely perfect just the way you are and you all deserve to know that and be told that each and every day.”
Now she’s turning the unfortunate event on its hard by setting up a fundraising page for Headspace, a national youth foundation providing
mental health and wellbeing support, information and services to people aged 12 to 25, “i

n order to support victims of bullying – both online and offline, all over Australia”.

“I’ve spoken out many times against misogyny, sexism and online bullying, and feel so strongly that as young people we should empower and support one another, rather than tearing each other down,” she writes on the fundraising page.

Tigerlily’s management –

Melbourne-based Lucky Ent, the same artist agency that only last week reaffirmed its pro-women stance as a company after one of its graphic designers was embroiled in a nude photo leak scandal – told P.TV she’ll be donating a big chunk of change from her own backpocket to kickstart donations.

“She’ll be donating 5k of her own money and aiming to raise it to 10k in the next few days,” a rep said.

If you’d like to donate, hit up the fundraising page HERE.
And if you’re having a tough time and feel like you need to have a chat to someone, you can do that with the friendly folks at Headspace.org.au in person, via online chat, or by calling them on 1800 650 890.
