Coldplay Announces One-Off Australian Show

Little known UK four-piece Coldplay has decided to consciously couple with Sydney next month for a one-off Australian show. For the first time in ages, they take to our shores without the possibility of the presence of Gwyneth Paltrow at a venue without a naming rights sponsor, car park or jumbotron, performing at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre in Newtown Thursday June 19th. The venue, capacity 1600, pales in comparison to the some 200,000 people they played to on their last Australian tour two years ago. I guess they can put those logistical savings towards their coloured powder budget.

The band will be in the country from June 16 to 21 for promotional purposes in service of their new album Ghost Stories, out today via Warner Music.
