Chris Brown Update: The Singer will Remain in Jail for the Next Four Months

Chris Brown will be behind bars for another four months.

Last week, we brought you an exhaustive analysis of the singer’s precarious legal situation. Long story short, Brown was thrown in Los Angeles jail several weeks ago, when he violated the conditions of his probation for his assault of girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. Yesterday, after admitting to the violation, he was jailed for a year, with credit given for the eight months or so he has already served.

Brown’s probation for his assault on Rihanna has been extended to January 2015, which means that once he’s out, if he gets in any more trouble, it’s back to jail again. We’re no legal experts, but the chances of Brown offending again seem to be somewhere between “very high indeed” and “astronomical.”

When he’s out of jail in Los Angeles, Brown still has to answer to charges of assault in Washington D.C. He has a hearing in Washington on June 25, and will be flown there via a Con Air plane. If convicted in D.C., Brown faces six further months in prison there.

Hey Chris Brown, have you considered NOT constantly assaulting people? Just a thought.
