Childish Gambino, despite not being present at the awards ceremony itself, has taken home the Grammy for Song of the Year for the undisputed king banger This is America.
(I say undisputed, but it’s clear that it is very much disputed by the voters of Triple J, who put it at NUMBER FOUR!!!)
@DonaldGlover aka Childish Gambino, Ludwig Goransson and Jeffery Lamar Williams won Song Of The Year for ‘This Is America’.https://t.co/4HVPZuzoS3

He beat out Drake‘s God’s Plan, Kendrick Lamar and SZA‘sAll the Stars, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper with Shallow, Ella Mai with Boo’d Up, Zedd, Maren Morris, and Grey’s The Middle, and Brandi Carlile‘s The Joke.
Somewhat surprisingly, This Is America is the first hip-hop Song of the Year winner in Grammy history. Gambino was not present at the Grammy Awards ceremony, making him the very first winner of a Big Four Grammy to not be there to get it since George Michael in 1989. That’s pretty insane!
Young Thug and Black Panther / Creed composer Ludwig Göransson were also credited with the win.
