Are actual musical gods Chance the Rapper and Childish Gambino teasing their long-awaited collaboration album? Signs are pointing to a hesitant ‘yes’.
It all started when Chance posted a pic of him and Gambino from backstage at Sydney‘s Field Day (where they played back-to-back sets and gave cute lil’ shout-outs to eat other) captioned: “Hawaii then LA, back to work. #roscoeswetsuit“.
It *COULD* be a travel itinerary, but it could be so much more. ‘Roscoe’s Wetsuit’ is a direct reference to Childish; the rapper used the phrase in his 2013 screenplay (written to accompany his 2013 album Because the Internet) in which Chance appears as a character. He also began tweeting the phrase repeatedly around that time, back in the days when he still used social media.
That same year, Gambino returned the favour by partnering with Chance for the Colouring Book rapper’s track ‘Favourite Song‘ off his critically acclaimed 2013 mixtape, Acid Rap.
And, in a final piece to the puzzle, Chance confirmed the existence of a Chance/Childish mixtape (or possibly EP) in a Reddit AMA from June 2016.
Obviously, fans are keen as bloody hell for this long-awaited gift.
