Chance The Rapper Is 100% Working On Records W/ Childish Gambino *And* Yeezy

Chance the Rapper, 25-year-old rap wunderkind, has told Peter Rosenberg on Complex‘s Open Late YouTube series that he’s got records with both Kanye West and Childish Gambino in the works.

First Chance said that, inspired by Yeezy to multi-task, he’s been working on a whole heap of new stuff, all of which he’s trying to figure out how to drop: “I’ve been actively working on the project with Childish, I’m gonna do a seven-track with Ye.”

He went on to say just how much he admires his collaborators:

Kanye is my favourite rapper that I followed without knowing for a long time, and Donald Glover was the first rapper who was like, ‘Come on tour with me. I like your shit’ – that no one’s ever heard of, my 10 Day shit – ‘I want you to come out on the road with me.’ Those are dudes that are like ‘I wanna do everything, I wanna work on as many things as possible.’ I’m 30 per cent on everything I’m working on.

He said he’s due in the studio with Ye next month, while he says he and Glover are well on their way to releasing a “fire” record: “We’ve got six songs that are all fire, but I think the album’s gonna be more than 14 songs. I think it’s gonna be a full thing.”

He also mentioned he’d totally be up to tour with Glover again: “Yeah, we already did that: I would definitely do that again.” (Maybe we’re just dreamin’, but oooft, how ’bout a guest appearance during Childish Gambino’s Aus tour?)

Chance the Rapper has previously collaborated with West on songs off his own Colouring Book mixtape, and on Ye’s The Life of Pablo, while Childish Gambino and Chance have worked together a number of times before on songs from Glover’s Royalty and Because the Internet, and Chance’s Acid Rap. Then, in September last year, Glover mentioned in a backstage interview at the Emmys that he’ll “probably” collaborate with the young gun on a mixtape.Well it sure sounds like they did it.
