Speaking from the ABC’s Japanese bureau before a gig later this evening, Chet Faker – real name Nicholas Murphy – told triple j’s Matt & Alex that he was “genuinely excited” about ‘Talk Is Cheap’ taking out the #1 spot in the 2014 Hottest 100 – let alone the other two songs he landed in the Top 10 – and wrote his excellent debut album Built On Glass “not thinking about the Hottest 100 but the hottest ex-girlfriend kind of vibe.”
