Californian band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club have taken to Twitter and Facebook today, announcing that Harvest has been cancelled, but assuring Australian fans that they will be touring the country regardless.

The messages come a week after promoter and usually frantic Twitterer AJ Maddah admitted he was concerned that poor ticket sales could see the festival cancelled. Maddah has been uncharacteristically tight-fingered on the subject today, with nothing emanating from his Twitter account since Saturday, and there’s nothing on Harvest‘s official channels confirming a cancellation. The lack of a second lineup announcement, which was expected last week, suggests that some big decisions are still being mulled over by the Harvest team.
