Bjork To Headline Vivid Live?

Could Bjork headline this year’s Vivid LIVE festival? The super sleuths at Faster Louder seem to think so, pointing to a Google AdWords campaign which directs Bjork-related search terms such as “Bjork Australian tour 2012”, “Bjork Australia” and “Bjork Vivid” to the festival’s official website. Ironically, the same reverse engineering helped us uncover last year’s lineup after ticketing information was found cached on the Opera House website. So then, does this theory hold up as well?

According to her official tour dates, Bjork will play Brazil’s Sonar Festival on the 11th of May then Spain’s Primavera Sound on the 2nd of June, leaving ample time for a Vivid appearance during its two week run from the 25th of May to 11th of June. Now that’s two reasons it could happen.

What else? In a statement to the media Festival Director Fergus Linehan said that this year’s lineup would include “artist-driven projects including unique collaborations, one-off projects and special events that take over all the venues and spaces of the House, including the iconic Lighting the Sails.” Her most recent album-slash-multimedia-project Biophilia certainly fits that brief. Make that three reasons.

Finally and most tenuously of all…this Daniel Askill directed teaser video vaguely reminds us of Bjork’s ‘All Is Full Of Love’ clip by Vivid alum and visual collaborator Chris Cunningham. Maybe it’s a clue? Maybe they talked? Who knows? Let’s go with half a reason.

Not to get your hopes up but that’s three and a half solid reasons why this could be true. Let’s hope it pans out.

The full Vivid LIVE line-up will be announced on Thursday 15 March.
