Beyoncé Pays Heartfelt Tribute to Young Aussie Fan

Beyoncé has paid a heartfelt tribute to young Australian fan Chelsea Lee James, who lost her battle with cancer late last month, aged 15. On hearing of her passing, the singer sent 90 white roses and a hand-written note to the young fan’s family.

The pair had met several times. Four years ago, Beyoncé invited James on stage as she sang ‘Halo’, and video of the touching performance quickly went viral. Last year, at a November show in Sydney, Beyoncé dedicated ‘Survivor’ to James.

In her note, Beyoncé praised her young fan’s strength. “Chelsea was a beautiful girl and I am so happy I was able to meet her,” the singer wrote. “She touched my heart and I will never forget her.”

James battled an extremely rare form of cancer known as a primitive neuroectodermal tumor for more than a decade, and passed away peacefully on  April 21.

Sorry to bum you out like this on a Friday afternoon, but Beyoncé is one classy lady.
