Here Are The Top 10 Aussie Albums Of 2020, According To This Clever Online Calculator

Best Aussie Albums 2020

2020, what a concept! It’s been a positively batshit year, and there’s literally no way we would’ve made it through without our tunes. The year has been pretty tough on our musicians and artists, so it’s important that we take some time to thank them for everything they’ve given us.

Thanks to the online program ‘Best Ever Albums’, we can accurately see the Aussie projects from this year that have made the biggest waves across the globe. The super handy program analyses every single end-of-year ‘best albums’ list (over 44,000 to be exact) and uses the data to numerically determine who actually deserves the top spot depending on their list placements.

With a few clicks and taps, you can easily see the data for the best Aussie albums released this year. Ultimately, there were a whole bunch of talented folks being praised for their gorgeous pieces of work this year, and we couldn’t be prouder.

Of course, everyone did a stunning job of releasing content throughout this hellish year, but here are the top ten albums, according to this clever little piece of programming.

1. Tame Impala – The Slow Rush

With a score of 378, Tame Impala was mentioned quite a bit in year-end lists, and truly, they deserve all the praise they’ve been getting.

Now if only I could get these songs out of my head.

2. The Avalanches – We Will Always Love You

Following Tame Impala are the legendary Avalanches, who came through with an energetic and exciting album full of bops and slappers. You love to see it.

3. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard – K.G.

If there’s anything you can expect from this chameleonic band, it’s that they’ll be putting out content all the damn time. When it comes to their recent release, it looks like the lists couldn’t get enough landing King Gizz in the number three spot.

4. Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever – Sideways To New Italy

I would very much like to be on a beach somewhere in the far southern reaches of Australia listening to this album. Soon I will get that chance and achieve pure bliss.

5. AC/DC – Power Up

An Acca Dacca album in 2020? This is the stuff that makes life truly glorious.

6. Tkay Maidza – Last Year Was Weird Vol. 2

Flawless, iconic, next level. This project from Tkay is quite literally some of the best music released ever and I for one cannot stop spinning this on repeat. I believe in Tkay Maidza supremacy.

7. Kylie Minogue – Disco

With a few disco hits under her belt, Minogue thought she’d try her hand at… disco. Alas, it worked like magic, and truly nobody is surprised that she still makes HITS.

8. The Chats – High Risk Behaviour

I could write a whole essay about how legendary The Chats are, but I’ll just keep it simple. Love these guys.

9. Sewerslvt – Draining Love Story

Sewerslvt (iconic name btw) has made quite a name for herself this year with a whole slew of banging projects. This one here however has ended up on quite a few lists around the globe, which is something to celebrate.

10. Cable Ties – Fair Enough

Catch me jamming to this on my next long-ass drive to Canberra. This whole project just hits all the right spots, and we’re glad it’s getting the acknowledgement it deserves.
