Ben Folds and Nick Hornby LP?

Ben Folds, much like the class clown (read douche bag) with a reputation to uphold, must feel compelled to peddle his “whacky guy of music” shtick until he’s doing duets with Weird Al Yankovic.

In that vein, it has been announced that Folds will commence work on a duet album with none other than Nick Hornby, author of the indier than thou “High Fidelity”.

“Nick Hornby and I are talking about doing a record where he writes all the lyrics and I write the music…His lyrics are great. These are really good words. But I’m not going to let them intimidate me, I’m just going to go in and whip out the music.” Folds said

The idea was inspired by Folds’ fake album in which he wrote and recorded six songs in eight hours “(We will) write and record it in about three days, just like we did in Dublin with the fake record,” Folds said.

With no scene stealing Jack Black cameos this sounds like the shitty sequel to “Music and Lyrics”…
