Beastie Boy Enlists All-Star Cast For Short Film

Kick it! Seth Rogen, Elijah Wood and Danny McBride are crashing the party. Not as themselves, but rather as Mike D, Ad-Rock and MCA respectively. In a short film written and directed by Beastie Boy Adam “MCA” Yauch himself, Rogen, Wood and McBride will star as the hip hop trio, which will premiere at the Sundance Short Film Festival in January 20-30 in 2011.

Entitled Fight For Your Right Revisited, the film will also feature Will Ferrell, John C Reilly and Jack Black, with the tagline “After the boys leave the party.”

The 1987 single “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)” was the first single released from the Beastie Boys‘ debut album License To Ill (1986), and became the first hip hop record to score itself first place on the US Billboard chart. The music video is considered an eighties cult classic.

With few details available, the film is already stirring up some much anticipated hype; and just on the cusp of their forthcoming album release The Hot Sauce Committee Part 2, which is expected to be released early next year.
