Baker Boy

Your fave Baker Boy appeared on Play School Celebrity Covers over the weekend to help celebrate NAIDOC Week. And because this is Baker Boy we’re talking about, the artist dropped a masterful cover of ‘Hickory Dickory Dock’ – dance break included.

Held annually across the country in the first week of July, NAIDOC Week honours the many achievements, rich culture and history of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Baker Boy’s performance of the classic tune aired on Sunday morning and it’s the kind of wholesome, pure content that’ll make you forget all your troubles.

I’ve listened to it three times already, help.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

Earlier this morning, Play School aired its special Acknowledgement of Country episode. It saw the introduction of a new Play School cast member, an Indigenous doll named Kiya. The new series regular was welcomed to the show by hosts Miranda Tapsell, Luke Carroll, and Hunter-Page Lockhart.

Last month on Instagram, Tapsell introduced Kiya to her followers.

“How moorditj (good) is Kiya? She’s one of our new Playschool friends all the way from Nyoongar country in Perth,” Tapsell wrote.

Kiya also means hello in Nyoongar language, she added.

According to ABC Indigenous, Kiya’s dress was designed by Noongar artist Kiya Watt and is symbolic of her people and the Mother Ocean.

As for Baker Boy, the 2019 Young Australian of the Year says his new video for ‘In Control’ drops this Wednesday.

The artist shared a little snippet on Instagram earlier today and HOO BOY, it is such a tease.

In the meantime, you can stream / download ‘In Control’ on your usual streaming suspects right HERE
