Harlem rapper Rakim Mayers AKA ASAP Rocky is heading to Australia for his first live tour to promote his debut studio album Long. Live. ASAP that was released in January. Mayers (whose parents named him after hip hop luminary Rakim) initially garnered buzz for his 2011 mixtape Live. Love. ASAP, that earned him critical acclaim, a spot on the end of year Best Of lists and a collaboration with another high-buzz independent artist.
He’ll play headline shows in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth with a crew of regulars from the Harlem hip hop collective for which he’s named, A$AP Mob. Tickets go on sale at 9am, Thursday 28 February.
