Rapper A$AP Rocky and two members of his entourage have been freed from prison in Sweden, after spending nearly a month behind bars in connection with an alleged assault.

Rocky, otherwise known as Rakim Mayers, was jailed alongside friends Bladimir Corniel and David Rispers following a fight that broke out in front of a burger shop on June 30.

The three went on trial this week, and following the conclusion of proceedings on Friday, Senior District Court Judge Per Lennerbrant ordered their release, pending a verdict.

Prosecutors pushed for a six-month sentence for the alleged assault of 19-year-old Mustafa Jafari, while the defence submitted that community service would be appropriate.

The ruling is due on August 14. The fact that the three have been released points to the possibility of an acquittal, or a sentence that is less than the time already served.

It is not clear whether A$AP Rocky and friends were free to return home, but various sources have reported that they have left or are about to leave Sweden via private plane.

A short time ago, A$AP Rocky took to Instagram to say:

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of my fans, friends and anyone across the globe who supported me during these last few weeks, I can’t begin to describe how grateful I am for all of you. This has been a very difficult and humbling experience. I want to thank the court for allowing me, Bladi and Thoto to return to our family and friends. Thanks again for all of the love and support.”
