Alex Turner has spent his Arctic Monkeys downtime dabbling in twee side projects whilst cavorting with Alexa Chung and the London fashion pack. A sorry diagnosis if you ask me. Where have all the hard living bourbon sweating rock stars gone? The cure? 40 cc’s of Josh Homme – stat.
The Arctic Monkeys have revealed that they will be working with Josh Homme on the follow up to 2007’s “Favourite Worst Nightmare”. The BBC reports:
“The singer (Alex Turner) revealed the collaboration at the London premiere of the Brit-award winners’ new live DVD.
He said: “We’ve been recording the new album with Josh Homme. It’s been going really well but it’s still early stages at this point.”
Homme recently revealed he had entered a studio in America with the band to produce some songs.”
To me, Josh Homme is like a bush fire. Big, red and kinda scary so it will be interesting to see how the final product sounds. Brings back those droney Kyuss riffs man…
