The no-doubt hirsute and “great sounding” followup to The Suburbs will be released on October 29th, the announcement of which was accompanied by the below diptych featuring a mostly-present band lineup alongside a photo of the Montreal Biosphere, which caught fire on May 20th, 1976.
The long-awaited confirmation of the release date was prompted in response to a tweet from a fan, whose small gesture of universal adoration has spawned a thousand fawning blog posts, this one included. Classic Arcade Fire – so humble, so blessed, so Canadian.
