Arcade Fire Are Just “Working On Music And Growing Beards”

Arcade Fire, the Canadian band that few people have heard of – with the exception of homage-proffering mega fan Delta Goodrem, is currently working on a new album, set for release in early 2013.

Drummer Jeremy Gara discussed the band’s pending fourth album in a radio interview with Ryan Bresee of “Whatever’s Cool With Me”. He said, “We took a couple months off and we’ve been writing songs. Now we’re in the studio pretty much full time just doing what we do… We’re just working on music and growing beards and living at home a lot and going out to dinner together.”

Wow. That last sentence perfectly captures the essence of what it is to be an indie Canadian.

Record label Mercury previously announced that the new record will be released in 2013, however Gara also said, “We are under no pressure from record labels or management or whatever to do anything on any sort of schedule. We’re just working. We have no deadlines. It’s kind of coming along.”

Arcade Fire dropped a new song earlier this month called “Crucified Again” which you can listen to HERE and you can listen to Jeremy’s interview in full below.
