Another Aussie Band Takes To Facebook To Call Out Shithouse Gig Behaviour

Clearly nobody has learned anything from the multiple call-outs this year about sexual assault and general bullshit behaviour at live gigs, because we’re having to have this conversation again. Seriously. We’re doing this.

This time Canberra-based band, Moaning Lisa, have taken to their Facebook to talk about the really crap way people are conducting themselves at shows.
Hayley and Charlie from the band take stock of one of their latest gigs, where certain “buffoons” were taking up far too much space, and making the whole experience really uncomfortable for others who just wanted to go out and support some live chunes.
We’re really sick of the excuse of just shrugging it off as drunken behaviour and ‘oh they’re just having a good time, don’t worry about it. Boys will be boys.’ Fuck.”
They go on to encourage people to either call out idiotic and dangerous behaviour when they see it, or alert someone who can take action and fix the situation – security guards, bartenders, anybody with authority in the venue.
I genuinely don’t know how many times we have to have this conversation before everyone understands the concept of decent human interaction and just keeping your fucking hands to yourselves at shows.
