All The Votes Are Counted, And The Winner Of Eurovision 2016 Is …

…. UKRAINE. 
While Australia‘s own Dami Im positively killed it in the grand final, and for a time, we were looking pretty damn close to take out the victory, Ukrainian singer Jamala has pipped us at the post to take our Eurovision 2016.
Jamala’s winning song, ‘1944‘, is a dark yet weirdly catchy tribute to her grandmother, who was one of a quarter of a million Crimean Tartars deported under the orders of Joseph Stalin during the Second World War. 
Dami Im bagged the second spot, an amazing result for Australia’s second year in the competition. In case you missed it, here’s Jamala’s entry:
