Australia’s representative for Eurovision, Dami Im has announced that she’ll be unleashing her new stadium anthem Sound of Silence at the contest in Stockholm in May.
It sure sounds like a Eurovision track – big synths, a huge hook, over the top production, maybe a touch on the cheesy side. That’s the beloved Eurovision style and we in Australia are blessed to be included, despite our obvious geographic ineligibility.

Im – who most know from season five of The X Factor – revealed last week that she was the lucky Eurovision representative, following in the footsteps of another Australian music show alumni, Guy Sebastian.
The track is written by Australian hit makers DNA Songs (David Musumeci and Anthony Egizii), who have also squeezed out bangers for Jessica Mauboy, The Veronicas and Ricky Martin.
We’re rooting for you here in Australia, Dami, depending obviously on exactly how absurd the Eastern European entries this year are. Let’s just keep riding this gravy train until somebody realises that Australia is not in Europe.
