Despite recently and somewhat reluctantly telling us that “this is the biggest first announcement we’ve ever done,” pragmatism has prevailed as Big Day Out boss Ken West has conceded that the public might not share his enthusiasm for next year’s lineup – headlined by personal ‘white whales’ Blur, Pearl Jam and Arcade Fire – with the event today confirming that the second Sydney show scheduled to take place January 27th has been cancelled.
“Perhaps we were a bit ambitious expanding to two dates in Sydney for this year’s Big Day Out,” West stated in a press release. “The Sydney Big Day Out show scheduled for Monday, January 27 will now be merged into one show on Sunday, January 26, Australia Day.”
Fans who purchased tickets for the Monday, January 27 show will have three options: use your January 27th ticket for the January 26th event, get a full refund until October 30, 2013, or exchange your ticket for any other Australian Big Day Out event.
