Sadly, Adventure Time is finishing up next year after its ninth season, but that news comes with the best silver lining of all time – a fucking open-world game. Yep, Outright Games and Climax Studios announced the game today, setting its release for spring (our autumn) 2018.
‘Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion‘ tasks players with exploring the flooded land of Ooo via a newly constructed boat. They’re even giving you the chance to name the vessel, which, if we’ve learnt anything at all from letting the bloody internet name boats, has an 80 percent chance of becoming Boaty McBoatface. You’ve got until January 2 to make a submission here if you’re keen.
Because Ooo is submerged, Finn and Jake will use the boat to visit the various kingdoms throughout the land to find out what the hell happened. You’ll also be able to recruit Marceline and BMO to join your crew.
“Upgrade your heroes, use items, spells, potions and unique ultimate hero abilities to battle bad guys in fast-paced tactical combat,” the Outright Games site reads.
The game will feature an original story and, as you’d expect, will be voiced by the cast of the show. Visually, it follows the series’ unique art style with added 3D depth. I gotta tell ya, it looks dope as hell. Check out some images below.
