“I’m descended from the Romanoffs” was the original “My uncle works for Nintendo.” It’s the perfect kind of fib: grandiose and easily dismissed, but nobody would bother to check unless they really had something against you.

Fortunately for us, the first full trailer for The Romanoffs shows a sprawling mass of liars with everything to gain by exposing the other impostors for what they are. Not everyone can be linked to the overthrown Russian aristocracy, after all.
Even better: the fact the upcoming Amazon Prime Video miniseries, helmed by Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner, is actually bit of a reunion.
Mad Men’s John Slattery, Christina Hendricks, Jay R. Ferguson, and Cara Buono join a cast including Aaron Eckhart, Kathryn Hahn, Diane Lane, Andrew Rannells, Noah Wyle, and essentially every other actor under the sun.
There’s no word on its arrival on Australian screens, but you too can pretend to be related to Anastasia by watching the trailer below:
