Pia Miranda has a special place in Aussie millennials’ hearts for portraying Josie in the groundbreaking film adaptation of Looking For Alibrandi and now she’s putting herself to the test in the new season of Survivor called Australian Survivor: Champions vs Contenders.

In a statement, the actress revealed that she’s been a fan of the series for two decades, “I’ve been sitting on the couch for 20 years saying I could win.”

Pia will join the Champions tribe alongside the likes of Olympic gold medalist Steven Bradbury, Boost Juice founder Janine Allis, and AFL stars Simon Black and Abbey Holmes.

Interestingly, the series is hosted by mega hottie Jonathan LaPaglia, the brother of Anthony LaPaglia who plays her father in the film.

Miranda won the Best Lead Actress award at the 2000 AFI Awards and co-star Greta Scacchi took home Best Supporting Actress.

While she is best known for her role in the coming-of-age film, Pia has also starred in popular Aussie television shows like All Saints, The Secret Life of Us, and Wentworth.

Seems like a bit of a random move for the girl but as fans of the movie will have seen, Pia has a history of defeating bullies using skill, cunning and book-swinging.

Observe…

Australian Survivor will return on Wednesday, July 24, on Channel 10 and 10 Play.
