In case you’ve had an absolute mess of a week and all you can think about is going home and sleeping, here’s your friendly reminder Looking For Alaska premieres on Stan tomorrow. The series is based on the book of the same by John Green, a book you undoubtedly read and cried over in high school over a cup of tea, with your Tumblr open in the background somewhere.
All eight episodes will premiere 7pm on Stan tomorrow – Saturday, 19 October. That’s the same day it comes out in the US so you don’t have to worry about spoilers.
Charlie Plummer of The Clovehitch Killer stars as Miles “Pudge” Halter, the boy seeking a great perhaps. He enrols in a boarding school where he falls in love with the mysterious Alaska Young (Kristine Froseth of Sierra Burgess is a Loser), and makes a heap of loyal friends. But after an unexpected tragedy strikes, Miles and his friends attempt to deal with their new reality.
Danny Love, Jay Lee, Landry Bender, Sofia Vassilieva, Uriah Shelton, Jordan Connor, Ron Cephas Jones (This Is Us), and Timothy Simons (Veep) co-star.
A slew of reviews have already hit the internet. The Hollywood Reporter frothed Froseth’s performance and the young cast in general, and called the series a “solid adaptation of a much loved book.”
Rolling Stone rated the series 4/5 stars and called it a “high school melodrama done right.”

Meanwhile, Netflix is also gearing up for its own adaptation of a book co-written by Green. Let It Snow, a Christmas romance, will premiere on the streaming giant November 8.
