WUT: Fox Is Making A ‘King Arthur’ Adaptation Where He’s A NYC Graf Artist

We understand that the studios are running out of ideas for TV shows. The Golden Age can only continue for so long. That’s fine. But that doesn’t quite excuse this baffling entry.

Apparently, according to The Hollywood ReporterFox is developing a new spin on the King Arthur mythology – because obviously we don’t have enough of those – but with an exciting twist: it’s a, uh, police procedural drama. Called Camelot. Yeah.
Because not even the subject of medieval British romances can escape the gritty reboot, King Arthur will be respun as a graffiti artist named Art living in Manhattan, who must fight an ancient evil with his best friend Lance and his ex, Gwen, who is a cop. Yeah. No prizes for guessing who they correspond to in the legend.
It sounds like a collision between King Arthur and Law & Order which I am not opposed to in principle, but only because I never would have thought of it, ever. Still processing it, really.
The show comes from The Jackal Group, who also produced the upcoming Rocky Horror Picture Show reboot. It sounds thoroughly absurd. But I’m willing to hear it out before I pull one of these classic manoeuvres.
