TV’s most wanted showrunner Vince Gilligan has hinted to The Hollywood Reporter that Walter White, Jesse Pinkman or potentially any other character from the Breaking Bad universe could make a cameo in the upcoming prequel spinoff Better Call Saul.
“The sky’s the limit with the prequel, because Better Call Saul will exist in the time before Saul met Walter White,” Gilligan said, “so in that time, everyone who is now deceased in the Breaking Bad world is still alive. You never know who might turn up or when or where”. He also suggested that Jonathan Banks‘ stony-faced “cleaner” could be a central character, saying he could “definitely see a version of this where Mike Ehrmantraut is an important part of the series”
Gilligan also said of the prequel that “It’s gonna certainly be funnier than Breaking Bad… although there’ll be some drama there as well”, and he’s hoping to reunite as many Breaking Bad crew members as possible – “get the band back together”, as he puts it.
That’s all well and good, Gilligan, but the questions on everyone’s lips is WHAT ABOUT HUELL?
