Will Ferrell To Star In 1 Of 2 Different Yet Identical Comedies About Uber

What are the chances?! Both Fox Studios and Universal bought the rights to very similar Uber-related comedies on the exact same day.
Universal has put down seven figures to cast Will Ferrell as their main man but are lacking a script, whereas Fox seems a lil more ahead with their project ‘Stuber‘ – the script’s finished.
Ferrell will allegedly play an Uber driver stuck with a deranged escaped-convict passenger in the Universal film, which was written by one of the same writers as the Zac Efron/Seth Rogen film ‘Neighbours‘, Brendan O’Brien.
Fox’s ‘Stuber’ takes place over one harrowing night in the life of an Uber driver who picks up a grizzled cop working the most dangerous case of his career. While no talent is casted yet, it is being produced by ‘Horrible Bosses’ writers Jonathan M. Goldstein and John Francis Daley
So, it sounds like both studios are gonna be racing and paying big bucks to be the first out the gate on this.
Also, app-related movies are a thing now. Can’t wait for Tinder & Grindr, tbh.
