Schoolies is fucking crazy right? Earlier this week, amidst the projectile vomiting and terrible pick up lines and accidental nudity, two 17-year-olds from Ipswich, Monique Quinn and Matthew Elliot (pictured at right), decided to “marry” each other after a whirlwind five day romance. Despite attending neighbouring high schools back home, the love birds had only met after their time at Schoolies and became engaged soon thereafter. They were interviewed on Today earlier this week by a concerned looking Lisa Wilkinson and aside from dropping truth bombs like “love at first sight”, “it’s all good” and “we met at the beach party” the interview’s emotional highlights come in hilarious technical difficulties, non-committal one line answers, a flippant approach to “true love” and a legendary “best man” who won’t let Lisa call him by the wrong name thank you very much. We wish these Schoolies newlyweds all the luck in the world, may they enjoy a long and joyous fake marriage.
