Joss Whedon (Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Dollhouse) returns to his extensive genre TV roots with Avengers spinoff series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The series, set after the cataclysmic events of The Avengers, follows eponymous government agency Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division responsible for “protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary”. The series will be headlined by Clark Gregg’s Agent Phil Coulson who everyone knows died at the hands of Loki in the first Avengers film. What this trailer presupposes is…maybe he didn’t?
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres later this year on ABC.
