Television continues to eat itself with last night’s sweeping Game of Thrones inspired Simpsons opening (or couch gag in Springfield parlance) which was charming and well executed but not enough to convince us to start watching The Simpsons again. Nice try though!
Of course this isn’t the first time the show has riffed on critically acclaimed television shows with past references to Mad Men, The Sopranos, Dexter and The Wire. Our favourite being Moe’s admission that he hasn’t actually seen The Wire and “had to bluff my way though so many conversations”. Watch the snake eats its tail below…
