We knew this would happen: it was only a matter of time before the ‘Bachelor‘ / ‘Bachelorette‘ rivalry became too strong and they were forced to battle to the death. And so they have, if you allow a very loose definition of “battle to the death” to include “competing for charity on ‘Family Feud‘” – which I do.
For the blokes, Osher Günsburg headed up a team featuring Australia‘s heart-throb Richie and the very forgetabble Davey and Dave, which the four of them playing for charities Zero2Hero and the Fight Cancer Foundation.
For the ladies, the incredibly wonderful Georgia Love captained last season’s Alex and Keira and Heather Maltman from the previous season, all playing for the Cancer Council Victoria and Youth Off The Streets.
Having Alex and Keira next to each other seems like a controversial decision, but don’t worry, they decided to make it awkward immediately, with Georgia introducing them as “Alex Nation, who won Richie’s heart, and we have the lovely Keira who… well, didn’t win Richie’s heart.“
Because it was not awkward enough, Grant Denyer waited until they had moved beyond that wonderful moment to bring it up once again, much to Keira’s delight. TV is amazing.
The show proceeded exactly how ‘Family Feud‘ always does: with Grant putting on the exact sort of charm that would make your mum leave your dad in an instant and with contestants doing their best to put very thinly veiled dick jokes into otherwise completely inoffensive questions.

The episode did however cast some light on the show’s apparently quite brutal rules, which seem to allow outright cheating if the player is able to get away with it, like Alex extremely deftly snookering Richie into having to answer a question he didn’t even get to hear:
It’s basically the thunderdome but with reality TV stars. In the end the blokes won the day, nabbing a not too shabby $30,000 for charity. Nice one lads.
