Earlier in the year, Donald Glover set a pretty high bar for his new show Atlanta. The actor / comedian / muso / rocket scientist went ahead and half-jokingly described the FX series as “Twin Peaks with rappers.”

Welp, since first full trailer has officially arrived, you’ll have to allow us to borrow from Twin Peaks‘ Agent Cooper: we have no idea where this will lead us, but we have a definite feeling it will be a place both wonderful and strange.
Pretty handily showing off Glover’s comedic and dramatic chops within 60 too-short seconds, the clip introduces the audience to Dong Lover’s artist manager character and his cousin / would-be client Paperboy.
If this vid is anything to go by – and dear God, we hope it is – the series will handle some serious shit to a flawless, Tame Impala-featuring soundtrack when it premieres on September 6.
