WATCH: Spooky Robber Tries To Sneak Past Security Cameras Dressed As Ghost

A video of a man disguising himself as a ghost mid-robbery has gone viral on Chinese social media this week.
Surveillance footage from an apartment building In Jinjiang in southeast China shows a man poking his head around the corner after coming up a flight of stairs. He then clocks the security camera that has by this point already gotten a good visual of his face. It is too late now, you’re done.
So the man goes back downstairs, only to emerge almost 20 minutes later with a curtain draped around himself, like a ghost. Of course police later found that he had cut down the curtain from the first floor.
A better disguise.
Police found the guy – who hadn’t actually stolen anything from the block of flats – and he copped to a bunch of other crimes. He was placed in custody.
Let’s just take a second to ponder the thinking process that went into this. The guy clearly decided he needed something so that he could creep past security cameras ~undetected~ and figured that the best way to do so was to dress like a schoolkid on Halloween, or a frat boy who doesn’t know how to tie a toga. It takes him almost 20 minutes to reach this conclusion.
And then after all that trouble – yanking down a curtain, cutting out holes for eyes in the exact right place – he doesn’t actually take anything.
