WATCH: Here’s The 1st Look At Jay Z’s ‘Making A Murderer’-Style Doco Series

You don’t need to look too far into Jay Z’s discography to find some pretty harsh takes on the United States’ criminal justice system, but his latest project already looks like his most charged yet.
The man born as Shawn Carter serves as executive producer for Time: The Kalief Browder Story, a six-part miniseries documenting teenaged Browder’s incarceration without trial – and the tragic circumstances of his life and suicide after release.
The first trailer for the SPIKE TV doco has just been released, and it’s already looking thematically similar to the other recent series asking serious questions of America’s justice system:
Carter has previously described Browder’s story as one of “the failure of the judicial process,” and that he “lost his life because of a broken system.”

“His tragedy has brought atrocities to light and now we must confront the issues and events that occurred so other young men can have a chance at justice.”
The show releases in March 2017. SPIKE TV is available in Australia via Fetch.
