Alright, real talk: we don’t actually need the fine folks at Disney to follow through with their live-action rendition of Beauty And The Beast. The casting decisions alone already resonate so deeply with the characters that we’re perfectly capable of enacting the entire thing in our own imaginations.
Ewan McGregor as Lumiere? Sir Ian McKellan as Cogsworth? Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts? Come on. Come on. And that’s not even addressing the cosmically perfect selections of Emma Watson for Belle and Dan Stevens as the eponymous Beast.
Obviously not content with sparking flawless headcanons, Disney have now released a teaser from the film’s production phase. It’s just under 50 seconds of grandiose ballrooms, endearing references to the 1991 animated rendition… and a few precious moments of Watson and Stevens at a table-read:

Look, give us Idris Elba as James Bond and we’re set for 11/10 casting choices for at least another decade. FWIW, Beast comes out in March next year – which is juuust long enough for you to entirely wear out your VHS of the original.
