I have nothing but time for ambitious sci-fi movies with big production value, I honestly don’t even care if they’re bad – show me something that’s visually or conceptually interesting and I will excuse the shittiest of plots and the worst of acting.
For some ~mysterious~ reason, movie studios aren’t as in to ridiculous space movie as I am, but the next six months might be pretty good for people like with me, with both ‘Arrival‘ coming in November and ‘Passengers‘ coming in January.
‘Passengers‘ is being billed as a “sci-fi romance” between the unbelievably perfect and attractive Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence, both starring as passengers on a 120 year spaceflight that find themselves awakening 90 years early while the rest of the crew remain in cryogenic sleep.
The script garnered a lot of excitement after it was selected as part of the 2007 Black List, which selects the most popular unproduced screenplays among studio executives.
I’m personally excited, but then then I am down for literally anything that has spaceships and Michael Sheen in it. Have a gander at the trailer:
