Channel 7‘s anthropological experiment of seeing if two socially awkward strangers talking about their feelings makes great television – a.k.a. ‘First Dates‘ – is back, baby.
This season it reckons it’s found Australia‘s answer to Bridget Jones, i.e. the perpetually single woman who’s slightly off-kilter but ultimately loveable.
Meet Roxy.
In the promo clip, Roxy tells her hapless date that “she’s always the bridesmaid, never the bride”, and that she’s been on fifty first dates (but unlike the Adam Sandler movie, they were with fifty different jerk faces instead of the one insufferable turd).
She also reveals that she’s never been in a relationship.
Her date reacts with all the tact of someone who’s been marinating in Lynx Deodorant Body Spray Africa for the better part of a decade.
MARK DARCY IS THAT YOU?
So will Roxy find ~love~? Or will she jump ship to Channel 10 and try out for the next season of ‘The Bachelor‘?
