For a festival that’s meant to be all about low-key, short films, Tropfest has certainly grown up fast. Now the largest of its kind – in the world, people – Tropfest has easily outgrown Tropicana cafe where it started (and where you can still find the great unwashed eating meals) and now entertains thousand of people in The Domain each year. This year’s competition has already heated up, with news of certain finalists (ahem: David Collins) sledging other dudes and heaps of cash being dropped to finance films from the Edgertons to Underbelly‘s Damon Gameau. Come for the films, stay for the controversy, then.
