Trailer: second look at Zac Snyder’s Man of Steel

Eight decades after the creation of Superman,
in 1932, the second trailer for Man of Steel has been released into the internet wild.

It comes months after the first trailer of General Maximus Decimus Meridius reading aloud from a copy of Grant Morrison’s ‘All-Star Superman‘ and stars British actor Henry Cavill as Superman with
Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Russell Crowe as Jor-El and Kevin Costner as
Jonathan Kent.

The film was Directed by Zack Snyder (Dawn of the Dead, 300, Watchmen and the-film-that-must-not-be-named Suckerpunch),
Produced by Christopher Nolan, scripted by David S. Goyer. (best
known for his work on The Dark Knight Trilogy and probably trying to
forget about his work on Ghostrider) and follows the story of “a child, sent to Earth from a dying planet, who is adopted by a couple in rural Kansas. Posing as a journalist, he uses his extraordinary powers to protect his new home from an insidious evil.” Thanks Anonymous imdb poster, you’ve done it again.

This will be the first film in the Superman franchise post-the2009courtruling which resulted in the family of comic co-creator, Jerry Siegel, recapturing the rights to Superman’s origins and copyright. So, you know…win for justice! Speaking of which, there have been further mentions of a Justice League follow up series.

So as we get ready to imbibe tales of boy wonder Kal-El, let us take some time to consider the ruling by The Great and Mighty Film Gods that Nicholas Cage as Superman never happened. Please, a moment of silence.

And now:

Man of Steel is scheduled to be released on the 14 of June 2013 in 2D and 3D.

As you can see, pretty standard teaser trailer material, with a pretty super cereal vibe. There definitely are a lot of feelings flying around (It’s A Bird…! It’s A Plane…! No…It’s a Feel). Now that you’ve found out who Clark Kent really is, will you reject him out of fear. Is the world ready? What do you think?
