‘Toy Story 4’ Is Going To Be A Love Story, Will Probs Make You Cry

Attention, adults who still get an unreasonably high amount of enjoyment out of animated kids’ films, specifically of the Pixar variety (in other words, pretty much all of you): Toy Story 4 is definitely, actually happening, and its plot will be based around a love story between Woody and Bo Peep

John Lasseter, the Chief Creative Officer at Disney, announced this news during a recent interview with CNBC. He directed the original film back in 1995, and will return to direct the fourth instalment of the beloved series.
Bo Peep, voiced by Annie Potts of Ghostbusters and Pretty In Pink, was Woody’s girlfriend in the first two Toy Story films, but only rated a passing mention in the third, with Woody hinting that she may have been sold or thrown away.
TBH, we’re very pleased to hear she’ll be back.

This raises a few questions:
– Does the focus on Woody and Bo Peep’s love mean that Andy will also be getting some?
– How exactly do these little plastic guys fuck?
– Is this all just a giant cash-in?
Coming off that last one, the Toy Story films are mad profitable, earning around $US 2 billion between them at the box office. Lasseter has addressed this, promising fans that that the new one is not all about the $$$.

“At Pixar and at Disney, we only make sequels if we come up with a story that’s as good or better than the original,” he said. “That’s our rule. We don’t do things just to print money,” he told CNBC.
We’d say something snarky about Cars 2 at this point, but we never saw it, and also, we’re adults, and hanging shit on a film whose primary audience is 10-year-olds feels a tiny bit redundant.
In summary, then, bring on Toy Story 4!
