OG Bachie Tim Robards Drops First Promo For His Guest Spot On ‘Neighbours’

The original Bachelor, Tim Robards – who married the winner of the 2013 season, Anna Heinrich, earlier this year – revealed back in July that he’ll be copping a role in Neighbours, and this weekend dropped the first promo for his guest spot on the long-running and extremely loved soap.

What have we got here then?

We’ve got a rich guy in a nice suit who kinda looks like ripped Adam Scott wooing April Rose Pengilly as Chloe Brennan, with champers and a fancy arse bracelet. Tagline: “They say money can’t buy love… Or can it?

Ooooooh spicy, yeah. Ogling the handsome man – apparently his character’s name is Pierce Greyson – might have us watching Neighbours again for the first time since last year when Dee mysteriously came back alive, but then was not Dee at all, she was FAKE DEE. And before that sometime in the early ’00s. When did Jesse Spencer‘s character get written out?

Speaking to TV Week earlier this year, Robards said he enjoyed playing the wealthy investor character whose name is obviously a portmanteau of Pierce Brosnan and fictional character Christian Grey:

I’ve really enjoyed exploring the character, Pierce Greyson has a number of layers to him, so he is really interesting to play for sure.

He is a hybrid of a Harvey Specter, sprinkle of Christian Grey and little bit of Robert Redford so it’s been great fun to explore.

He told the mag he was also chuffed to get the chance to share the set with truly iconic characters like Paul Robinson, Toadie and Susan Kennedy in his first acting role.

At the start of this year I made the decision to make acting the top of my priority list. I’ve been putting in the work behind closed doors with different coaches – pushing myself out my comfort zone and then this role came up so I’m super excited.

Back in July, Robards announced the news on Instagram:

I’ve been quietly been putting In a lot of hard work and training behind the scenes and had an audition right before my wedding… must have done alright… I booked the Job!

So stoked and honoured to be heading to Ramsay St, joining the team for a guest role and becoming part of the Aussie icon that is @Neighbours Big thanks to all the encouragement from my family and support team to always expand my comfort zone and chase my dreams! #Neighbours#RamsayStreet #NewKidontheBlock

It’s not his first TV role since The Bachelor – he was on Australian Ninja Warrior earlier this year.

He’s not even the first Bachie star to make the move into soaps: OG Bacehlorette Sam Frost currently plays Jasmine Delaney on Home and Away.

Schedule your salivary glands to drool on October 5, Robards’ first expected appearance on the soap.
