Sydney Morning Herald confirms that thanks to a multi-million dollar government spending spree, shooting for Thor: Love and Thunder will take place in Sydney.

The publication reports that the news is a direct result of the Morrison government dipping into its $140 million funding pool for major Hollywood productions.

As you’ll remember from the blessed array of local pap shots, the third flick in the franchise, Thor Ragnaork was filmed in Queensland locations Brisbane and the Gold Coast but this time, the New South Wales government was able to lure production to Sydney.

“The film is expected to invest over $178 million in our economy, create up to 2500 jobs and use the services of around 1650 businesses,” said Federal Communications Minister Paul Fletcher.

“Australia has an ongoing relationship with Marvel Studios and I’m very pleased they will return to our shores again next year to take advantage of our world-leading screen industry.”

Absolute legend Taika Waititi is set to direct the flick once again, starring the newly crowned Natalie Portman along with Valkyrie Tessa Thompson and, of course, the big boi himself, Chris Hemsworth.

As part of the government initiative, Love and Thunder will also see Marvel Studios offer a trainee program for Aussie film students which will be available to people studying at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School, National Institute of Dramatic Arts as well as other local universities.

Production is set to begin in March 2020 with filming to kick off in August of that year so you have until then to save up for night vision goggles, binoculars and all the other necessary equipment to stalk the cast.
