The Weeknd Pulls Out Of Jimmy Kimmel As A Big Fuck Ya To Donald Trump

The Weeknd and rapper Belly were both booked to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, until the appearance of a certain presidential candidate made them reconsider.

Donald Trump appeared as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight (EDITOR NOTE: Mark that down in ya big ol’ calendar of content, would ya?), and the musicians were not at all keen to share the stage with him.
Which is fair. He’s pretty douchey and sexist and racist and so on, ya know.
While The Weeknd didn’t give a statement on his decision, Belly did:
“I feel like the way I was raised was to be able to see through all the titles in this world — from religion to race.

I just didn’t want to feel like I was a part of a celebration for somebody who has beliefs that the majority of us don’t agree with.

For me, being Muslim and being somebody that appreciates my access here in America, I love the fact that I’m able to be here.

To play my part in this business is a privilege and a beautiful thing. The fact that I could lose that ability through the actions of someone such as Donald Trump isn’t right to me. At all.”

Bloody fair enough too. Trump sure as hell has the freedom to say his backwards bollockery – everyone else has the freedom to leave the room so they don’t have to hear him spew it.
