It’s been a long time between drinks for Rick & Morty fans. The last season finished in October 2017, and since then we’ve been treated/tortured with a number of fun li’l clips that collectively tell us exactly bupkis about when Season 4 will be hitting our screens.
If you thought this one was gonna be any different… think again!
In another aesthetically pleasing mash-up of pop culture pastiches and cool music (plus the whispered refrain of Justin Roiland saying “Rick… Morty… Rick… Morty…” over and over), the cruel and possibly terminally lazy show creators simply remind us that it’s been more than a year with not a whisper of when to expect S4. I mean, let’s put aside for a moment the fact that entertainment creators don’t owe anyone anything, and the suggestion that they should spend their days toiling away on the next morsel of distraction for our ravenous and easily-diverted brains to feed upon to devour (instead of, I dunno, spending time with their families or working on artistic pursuits that will fulfil them in ways much deeper than contributing to the oeuvre of Adult Cartoons) is a specious one at best, because COME THE FUCK ON GUYS, IT’S BEEN MORE THAN A YEAR.
We may as well go the route that some fans have taken: the path of willing self-delusion.

Sure, why not. This is a Season 4 trailer, Trump’s been joking about the wall this whole time, and the 99% of scientists worldwide who argue that the climate is irreversibly changing due to humanity’s actions are all about to realise that they’re woefully mistaken and everything is actually fine. Hooray! Much better.
