A golden age of cartoons for adults might sound like some incredibly stupid nerd shit but guess what: we’re in one and it totally rules.
Between ‘Adventure Time‘, ‘Bob’s Burgers‘ and ‘Rick and Morty‘, there’s never been a better time to consume content designed for grown-ups through a medium designed for children.
If you’re unfamiliar with ‘Rick and Morty‘ I’m a little curious as to why you’re keen to watch a sneak preview of the third season, but, in a nutshell, it’s the story of two people who are very thinly-veiled versions of Doc and Marty from ‘Back To The Future‘ who go on insane adventures in space that usually involve unbelievably heavy themes and lots of murder.
Season 2 was (pardon my French) the fucking tits and the wait is proving to be absurdly, ridiculously long – although they have thrown us the occasional bone, like an actual fucked up court case transcript animated and voiced in the style of ‘Rick and Morty‘, with the judge and protagonist voiced by Rick and Morty.
Just in time to stop the withdrawals from becoming potentially lethal, the show’s creators have seen fit to give us an animated and voice acted section of storyboarding from the upcoming third season, which features Rick and Morty coming to the full realisation that the shit they do is fucked up.
